It all starts with our unique brick oven, one of the first wood-fired ovens in NOVA, and our fresh pastas made in-house every day. The scents of garlic, tomatoes, and herbs follow you through the restaurant as you see the hand-painted murals covering our walls. Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard. Again the Wine House was a wonderful dining experience. The server was super friendly and I think she brought us our drinks in about 2 minutes. All four of us were more than pleased with the quality of our entrees. The Wine House has always been one of our favorite restaurants because of its quality and atmosphere.

First time. Was a little concerned after reading other reviews and map didn’t get us to the front of the restaurant. But from there, all was stellar. Service, ambiance, food were over the top skilled, delightful and delicious. We canceled our reservation for my husband’s birthday so we could come here instead. We’re fussy, so this is a huge tribute.

Second time in a week I have been here. You have a great thing going - the food is wonderful, as is the service, and the atmosphere is cozy (although sometimes the music is a bit loud, hard to have a conversation) and the pricing is very fair. Please keep doing what you're doing - I've already booked again for next week!!

Everything we ate was amazing. The fried mozzarella and the arancini were so delicious and a great way to start off the meal. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the chicken had such amazing flavor. Service was fast and impeccable. The restaurant had a very comfortable and homey Italian feel, and it was very reasonably priced. 10/10, will be dining again.
