River House Restaurant and Raw Bar is Louisville’s premiere riverfront dining destination. It is the vision of award-winning chef and restaurateur John Varanese and seats 330 in its main dining room, raw bar, and patio. Guests experience a charming “home like” atmosphere as they enter the restaurant from the front porch garden area. Enter through a 20-foot tall by 40-foot wide water wall, and enjoy intimate decor, and a floor-to-ceiling glass wall overlooking the back courtyard and river, River House is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.     Riverhouse has amazing customer service! I was so disappointed that I had missed the lobster thermidor special last night and they told me to come tonight and they would make it. They did and it was AMAZING! The cheese appetizer and my husbands ribeye were great as well. The drinks and dessert were the perfect additions. The service was very nice and the river with snow was a beautiful site. We really enjoyed our impromptu date night!

    We opted to try Proof On Main to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary during our annual visit to Louisville. Routinely, we had our anniversary dinner at Swizzle. However, when we were unsuccessfully at securing a reservation at Swizzle, our search for an alternate led us to Proof on Main-we are glad we did! Not only were we able to get a last minute reservation on X-mas eve, but it wasn't packed, adding to the intimate ambience we were hoping to experience. Our waiter, was not only knowledgeable, but he was verry attentive and detailed with his recommendations; which were spot-on. I cannot remember the last time I savored every bit of my meal.
