Nestled amidst serene landscapes, The Sidings combines a farm shop and café to offer an immersive experience for train enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs alike. Our exquisite First Class carriage café, adorned with elegant art-deco elements, provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience from 10am – 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 3pm on Sundays. Our carriage Farm Shop, open from 10am – 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sundays, features fresh, seasonal, locally produced products, ensuring quality and sustainability. You can book a table for inside the café, however walk ins are welcome. We are only dog friendly outside on a lead, unless they are a service dog. The Bateman Arms was built c.1750 by Sir James Bateman (Lord Mayor Of London) as a building where his Estate workers would collect on pay day. Over the years it became a staging post for weary Drovers to refresh themselves as they walked livestock from West Wales to markets in Birmingham and London.Today, Mike Pope and his team provide a warm welcome to both locals and the many business and leisure visitors who travel to the Marches throughout the year. Serving a rustic menu packed with pub classics and other items such as freshly baked pizzas, we have something for everyone to enjoy.
