The Bricklayers Arms is a delightful lakeside public house, comprising three terraced cottages in a charming Kent village. The pub is situated at the end of the picturesque Darent Valley Walk. The sign represents Sir Winston Churchill, an expert bricklayer and whose home was at nearby Chartwell.We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. Open Tuesday to Sunday with food served all day from noon.We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do.     Recently went to the Hare & Billet for a lovely roast, was excited to see they offer a vegan wellington roast as an option online. However was disappointed upon learning that it’s no longer an option and had been taken off the menu when we were getting our orders taken. Luckily we had a fantastic server, Nathaniel who went above and beyond to offer options so that I could still enjoy the roast that I’d be looking forward too with a few tweaks here and there. Ended up having a lovely meal regardless! Thank you, Nathaniel & chefs at the Hare & Billet!

    Well we had a great lunch as we always do. Seniors 3 course plus drinks etc for 6 of us. Meal was delicious and the staff very friendly and nice. The table we asked for was just right. Lovely surroundings. We’ll be back soon

    Excellent service from the staff, friendly and cheerful. The food was wonderful and dessert was to die for. Would recommend a Sunday lunch there.

    Amazing food as always. I would highly recommend dining at The Blacksmiths Arms. A large group ordered just before us but it was certainly worth the wait. We had two scampi and chips, one steak and ale pie and I had the most delicious ham,egg and chips resulting in four empty plates! 😋
