In 1959, Frank and Tina D'Ambrosio decided to start a new restaurant venture along with their "Paisans" Mario and Enza Volpe, after Frank had much success with his first restaurant, the original "Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi Too! In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original "Giorgio's" in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as "Sash and Lou", took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank's four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997 they opened a second location in Milpitas, CA, in 2023 another in Morgan Hill and now back in Mountain View, where they still offer the highest standard of quality food, service, and value to their customers. Newly reopened restaurant with a wonderful open air dining area available. Very good and friendly service. The Cacciucco was very good and included fresh clams, prawns, calamari, shrimp & white fish simmered in natural juices with a light tomato broth over spaghetti al dente and garlic toast. The Chicken Marsala had medallions of chicken sautéed with garlic, shallots and mushrooms, and green onion served in a marsala demi-glaze with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable aglio olio. Both dishes had balanced tastes and were presented well.

The food at Riace is always spectacular, as is the service. The bolognese is the best anywhere, and the pasta alla norma is something special. End it all with the tiramisu.

The restaurant staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. They did not rush us to order our food and drinks. It's a great place to meet friends because the restaurant isn't noisy, making it easy to have a conversation and enjoy the food and drinks.
