The Belgian Monk opened in December 2000. The main objective was to create something different yet to fit in with the way drinking and dining is changing. It has become a successful and established bar and restaurant, offering customers a choice of a regular selection of some 45 beers together with a selection of special beers. The menu is based on serving only the best products available freshly prepared daily, at realistic prices, in an informal relaxed "friends and family" atmosphere. It provides more than just the meal or drink but a whole Belgian experience. A nice experience for lunch, only thing that was a bit strange was they don’t seem to have the heating on . Seemed quite cold in there.

Our party enjoyed the Peter Pan afternoon tea. It was excellent!! One of the party is gluten and lactose intolerant and they were provided with a separate stand of food. Their items looked exactly like the other one. Service was efficient and the staff were extremely friendly. A beautiful setting.

Came to the Red lion from Cambridge in the summer and sat near the river Such a lovely setting Came back to Norwich and decided to book Sunday lunch Had the pork belly and Roast beef Have to say it’s the best roast we have had 10/10 for everything Gary and Linda Cambridge

Birthday treat meal this time with a Gluten Free guest who found the Beer Battered Fish & Chips excellent. Difficult to find venues with so many GF options and flexibility for fussy eaters like moi! Vegan wine options cool. Highly recommended
