General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. The reason I chose Aera because I heard this restaurant offers an unbeatable view of the CN Tower. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was exceptional—attentive and friendly. Despite the weather, the experience was memorable, and the food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great views and top-notch service!

Service was incredible. Michelle was attentive and thorough, kind and welcoming. We loved the halibut with the creamed leeks, as well as the lemon posset for dessert. Overall it was a perfect meal with perfect drinks. We will definitely be back.

We had an incredible experience at Maximes From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was absolutely phenomenal—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the beef tartare, the burrata, the sea bass was a perfect blend of flavor. The dessert menu was equally impressive, with the tiramisu being a true standout. The attention to detail, both in the service and the food, was truly top-notch. This is easily one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Our server/bartender Driss Amir was outstanding D’j was Incredible Highly recommended!"
