The Restaurant Black in Amsterdam is a GEM. The restaurant was recommended by a local. We were a party 5. We did make a reservation on OpenTable. The service was amazing, scollop appetizer , steak dinners were perfection. The restaurant had a relaxed cool vibe. We were all very pleased.

We were in Amsterdam for Christmas and by coincidence, so were our son and daughter-in-law! Totally uncoordinated! We chose Day's StoneGrill for our Christmas dinner. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation. This was no problem and we were seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and had no problem accommodating 'substitutions' for the 'set' menu. The food was excellent and the experience of 'grilling' our entree was new and fun (some reviews state that they were put off by having to prepare their own meat--" We had to work"). Sorry, but that was one of the benefits of this arrangement--prepare as you prefer. This experience and meal was out of the ordinary and VERY pleasing! Wish we had something like this in our town in the USA.

The food is amazing! We had some starters which we shared and they were all delicious. Great place to dine with some friends!

Cote de Bouef for two was chewy and gristly. Wouldn’t order again. Apple crumble dessert was disappointing and not what we expected as it was more of a pudding with crumbs on top than a “crumble.”. Food menu is too limited. Service and wine choices were excellent. Location is beautiful and the hotel is charming. Will try again as have eaten there twice before on other visits to Amsterdam and loved it.

A gem in Amsterdam! We were so pleasantly surprised to find this Italian restaurant that rivals our favorite restaurant in NYC. Fresh pasta (tried the seafood spaghetti and pesto tagliatelle). 2 preparations of the shrimp (cognac and garlic). So yummy! And the caramelized balsamic vinegar! Great and personal service. Thanks for a wonderful 2 days in Amsterdam. They were so good, We ate there daily !
