The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. What a wonderful way to spend an anniversary. The staff was marvelous, especially our waitress , Leah and bartender, Bill. The food was delicious and very ample. We will come back very soon.

Food was well-crafted, innovative and tasty. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Ambiance was very comfortable. Only complaint is that cocktails were skimpy pours.

The carbonara is my favorite pasta on the menu it did not disappoint. Had a chicken special which was also good. Regrettably it was really hot upstairs, and they don’t seem to be able to do anything about that. And I mean 79 degrees if the thermostat is to be believed. On a 20 degree night. Seems it is all one zone heat/AC.

We had an amazing time at dinner. Everything was delicious and super flavorful. It's rare for my big family to agree on food but everyone enjoyed it. They were very flexible with my reservation as I had a last minute issue and were able to accommodate us at a later time. The servers were very nice and the owner was extremely helpful. I would definitely come back!
