From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community.     Our dinner at Pate’s Restaurant was extraordinary in every way! It earned 10 gold stars from the moment we stepped in the door! In addition, we need to mention a very special ’THANK YOU!’ to Heather. Her thoughtful service, valuable input, and positive energy created a dynamic experience for one & all!!! Wishing a successful 2025 for Pate’s and all its wonderful staff!

    Our New Year's Day lunch was wonderful. We were seated in the sunny front of the tavern and had the most exceptionally pleasant server. My friend's quiche and salad was described as very good and my fish and chips confirmed my choice was on-point. The french fries are the best. Only downside was, when first seated the restaurant wasn't nearly full and the noise level was very high. By the time we left, most tables were filled, so the noise was understandable at that stage. Still, this could be my new favorite eatery in Chatham.

    It was a cozy, comfortable space for a holiday get-together. The service was perfect and though the menu was somewhat limited, the food was excellent.
