An overwhelming amount of work paled into insignificance against the excitement at what they thought could be created in this out of the way building with a very long and interesting history. A lot of hard labour ensued to create their vision of showcasing the best qualities of a modern pub; seamlessly combining carefully sourced, sophisticated yet familiar food and drink in a welcoming authentic pub environment. Our third visit to Tartan Fox, this time with family. The food always surprises on the upside. People expect pub grub and it’s quite a step up from your average local! Service was excellent. Attentive and friendly. In all, it’s very good value for money at c£22 per main course (with side dishes extra). Many places in Newquay would charge the same for far inferior cuisine. There were extra heaters in place, which were welcome.

As always, we eat here pre theatre, never anything less than brilliant, it’s without doubt the best place to eat in Truro.

We had a family gathering today for lunch to celebrate Christmas , the roast beef and turkey was so delicious, all of my family enjoyed starter to desert. Plates were hot, food hot, plenty of vegetables and super delicious cauliflower cheese. Thank you for making Christmas special.
