The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Second time lunching here in a month. Smashing menu, Christmas decor, friendly and attentive staff made lunch today an enjoyable occasion. The prawn cocktail was delicious. A return visit is planned.

After a gruelling 7.5 kn mud filled walk with my walking members we arrived back at The Hatch. As we entered we were met with a warmth of the interior of the pub resplendent in Xmas decorations. There were seven of us in our group and we all enjoyed our main course some had deserts as well. We were looked after admirable by the Hatch staff and the food was of a very high standard. We all felt now relaxed after our morning ordeal.

The staff working here were lovely and attentive! Really nice old style pub with a fire and really nice food! Would recommend this pub!

First time trying the White Hart and the Sunday roast didn't dissappoint. Portion sizes were ample and it was delicious. Service was a little slow but this wasnt an issue. Lovely atmosphere and very dog friendly. Well definitely be back again.
