Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. We had a wonderful lunch sitting near the gorgeous windows overlooking the Hudson. The wait staff were courteous and friendly and attentive. We had that days soup and sandwich special. The squash soup was delicious and served in a mug, so you didn't miss a drop. The grilled chicken sandwich with arugala and asiago cheese on a grilled baguette was really tasty.

Having a table next to the door it s an inconvenience due to waiters going in and out and it s really cold. Suggestion: dim the light, to bright for a restaurant and doesn’t create a sense of intimacy. Hope you will have dancing nights😊 The decor is absolutely amazing! We will go back.
