The Ox Barn is a 56-seater destination restaurant under the direction of Head Chef, Charlie Hibbert. His team and the gardeners at Thyme work together to select and grow the fruits, vegetables and herbs used to create his Modern British Countryside fare. The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. A state-of-the-art piece of agricultural architecture at its conception, Caryn Hibbert worked meticulously to preserve the soaring archways and original Cotswold stone rubble walls, to now house a modern, dining destination - including a contemporary bar and seven and a half metre Charvet open kitchen - to allow for an authentic, heritage-rich dining experience, enabled by today’s best culinary technologies.

The setting is beautiful, simple and relaxing to a very high standard. The atmosphere and the staff are polite, friendly & welcoming. The tables and seating areas are well thought through, immaculate and classic simplicity. The food was delicious & presented beautifully. Disappointingly there was an issue which reduced the review rating, there was at least 3 mix ups on our orders so there was a delay for the party to eat together. We appreciate it may have been an off day. We would certainly look at visiting again

The quality of the food was very good as was the service. It was very busy which was to be expected this however did result in a noisy experience.

Enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at The Holt, afternoon tea was lovely, nice atmosphere and decorated with Christmas tress and a lovely fire. Nice to have warm scones as some places do not do this, and nice sandwiches and cakes. We needed to do a last minute change with the sandwich's from their menu, and the were very obliging to do so.

All staff extremely happy, friendly and attentive. Felt that the food could have been a bit hotter. Must admit that the roast beef was quite tough.

We’ve been dining for 3 nights at the Holt hotel and every time it was delicious and the service 10 out 10, a bit expensive but everything is I guess these days. Highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel! 🥰
