Just a mile down the hill from Goodwood Race Course we are 12 minutes drive from Chichester. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner we try to source our ingredients as locally and as seasonally as possible. Whether you are at a Goodwood Event or walking, cycling or just out for a drive and fancy a decent meal at reasonable prices, we like to think we are one of the best around. We have a great courtyard and garden space which can seat up to 100 people. Freshly ground coffee is available all day. Fantastic afternoon at the Star and Garter. Added 2 more people on very last minute (taking us to 4 adults and six kids!) and it wasn't a problem despite the pub being busy. A warm welcome, attentive service, nice wine and a fabulous food was then topped off by a musical duo performing after our meal who were brilliant. Such a warm vibe. Perfect Sunday afternoon in a country pub, exactly what we wanted.

We chose the Crown as a half way meeting point with extended family, what a great choice, to start with the ambiance was beautiful and very historic, the welcome was most friendly, the service was all you could ask for, the menu was different and interesting, and the food was the with out doubt the best we have tasted for a long time, particularly at those prices ,the four of us chose differently and were all delighted with our choices , a fantastic experience, next time we are in that area we will definitely call in again, better than 5 out of 5 Graham and Sue Maddox
