Patri has several meanings, in Hindi it means Pavement, in Urdu it means Track and in ancient Sanskrit its means a vessel or small furnace. The name took us back to our origins and we decided to use Pavement, Tracks, and Furnace to come up with a street food menu contains all three elements. Our starters are street food classics on pavements in India and Pakistan. Our grills are freshly cooked in the tandoor at over 400 degrees to replicate cooking in a furnace. The Swan in Chiswick dates back to 1871 but we are positively new occupants having only arrived in 2002.We strive to keep the pub very much a pub while offering a Mediterranean-inspired menu that’s won many followers over the years.We have a cosy fire for the winter and a wonderful garden for the summer – it truly feels like a hidden gem and well worth a visit.Hopefully you can find everything you need to know here on the website but we’d much rather welcome you in person! Tangawizi restaurant in London’s East Twickenham, close to Richmond Bridge, earned the well-heeled locals’ devotion right from the off. The chef is ‘trained by and strongly recommended by Vineet Bhatia’ and that’s saying quite a lot. The dining room is very smart, mood-enhancingly lit in saffron and blackberry with details of beautiful sari fabric inlaid in the tables. Dishes are authentic North Indian, but cutting-edge and contemporary, the way we Londoners like them: the freshest of ingredients, little oil, sparkling flavours. Try the mixed platter of starters to share to really browse the possibilities, then choose something like spicy marinated red snapper in tempura batter served with cheddar and Parmesan risotto, with one of the lovely dahls on the side. The traditionally-clad waitstaff are very attentive and the whole experience a winner.
