Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. First time in Pittsburgh and wanted to try this place. My 10yo and I had the Beef Wellington for two, it was amazing. The Sargent pepper old fashion was made to perfection. The carrots and potatoes sides were undercooked twice. Still well worth the visit!

All staff was excellent! From the hostess, bartender, helper staff and manager, nothing but smiles and great attitudes. Food was excellent, served fast and tasted amazing.

Exceptional, elegant, outstanding. Our waiter Gregory was pleasant, courteous, gracious, considerate, thoughtful, understanding, accommodating, attentive and professional. Every dish of the Feast of the Seven Fishes was exceptional. Chef was superb. Staff was superb. Waiter was superb. Bartender that prepared our Old Fashion Bourbon was the best of the best. We genuinely hope that everyone has the best of holidays.
