Located right by Clapham Common, Red Vine is a neighbourhood restaurant that celebrates Modern British food with a focus on wine. Only using local ingredients, owner Richard Herbert and Head Chef Julio Amado have created a delicious, seasonal British menu with a Mediterranean twist. Slow-cooked ox cheeks; deep-fried mussels served with aioli; and truffle tortelloni tossed in garlic butter all feature on the beautifully curated menu, which is divided into small plates and large plates. This is food that’s supposed to be lingered over. And with an uncomplicated wine list and creative cocktails, there are plenty of reasons to stay a little longer.The charming restaurant welcomes dogs and is beautifully decorated with colourful walls and original church pews. The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment. Generally ok however, we were sat in the conservatory which had two entrances which people kept walking through and leaving the doors open - felt like being in a barn, impacted on the otherwise good experience. Wholesome food, portions perfect and well presented, not too much on the menu which suggested all freshly prepared and not heated from a freezer. Staff attentive and were able to add a seat at short notice which was really kind.

beautiful colourful food, bursting with amazing flavours. Absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful too and some of the nicest wine i’ve had in a long time. Only complaint was being told that we only have the table for 1.5hrs, it’s not the best vibe as soon as you walk in and just would’ve though that 2hrs minimum was appropriate but I get that it was a busy friday night. Otherwise an impeccable dining experience, thanks so much.
