The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park. The décor reflects the traditional country inns history but with a modern twist. Wonderful restaurant. Elle our waitress was excellent and most helpful, knowledgeable and lovely. The only slight criticism is perhaps that some of the food was not seasoned at all or under seasoned which whilst letting the customer season themselves left the taste of the food slightly lacking. This is a really small but important criticism but beyond this it was marvellous. Really worth checking out!

Love Hibou on a Sunday for lunch, as always, food was great, service was excellent, nice atmosphere with live music - it’s one of my favourite places to eat in town, would recommend

The food was magnificent. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was calm. We all had a fabulous time.
