Contemporary local restaurant for homey dishes, cocktails & wines.We’re a locally owned and operated restaurant that has been serving French cuisine in the Kitsilano area for a number of years. Lavidas is a contemporary comfort restaurant serving a variety of different cuisine. Our menus are driven by local ingredients and cultural influences with fresh modern styling and molecular techniques.We continue to serve a few of our favourites along with some new dishes inspired by PNW ingredients.We are proud to support a diverse and inclusive workplace that supports and celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and diversity in the work force. We have two gender-neutral bathrooms and are also wheelchair accessible.

    Went for the Valentine's Day menu. Had high expectations going in and the food and service exceeded our expectations. The food was sublime. My favourite dish was a Hokkaido scallop cooked perfectly with a beautiful sauce and sorbet and sweetness from julienned green apple with a dollop of caviar. Every bit was beautiful. Wanted to lick the plate it was so good. The next course was a soft egg with creamy polenta, black truffles, and a beautifully thin slide of crunchy sourdough that looked like a lace cover. Just beautiful and delicious. Then a steamed seabass which was cooked to perfection sitting in leche de tigre sauce with a salsa that gave it just the perfect amount of heat. The dish was served skin side up which made for a beautiful presentation. The last savoury course was an Australian wagyu zabuton cut. It was served with a beautifully roasted sunchoke and a wonderful bordelaise sauce. Great flavour with a little bit of chew if you like that. Then they served a sweet drink with a bit of a "spark" which was fun and then the dessert which was yummy but very rich and the only part of the meal which I felt could have been maybe lighter? The dessert was lovely but I could not finish it because it was so rich. Chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. Altogether an amazing meal. The service was excellent and everyone from entry to exit was very friendly and welcoming. Thanks for making our Valentine's dinner such a memorable evening!

    We have returned to Lavidas several times and find that both the cuisine and the service are consistently excellent. A wonderful gem in our neighbourhood!

    The truffle grilled cheese and tomato soup at lunchtime on a cold day is simply excellent. Monika is a very friendly and attentive waitress.

    My wife and I sat at the bar and was served by Andrew, and all I have to say is WOW. The service was impeccable, the drinks were amazing, and the food was out of this world. We've been to a handful of nice restaurants but never experienced such attentive and kind service before. Andrew suggested a few things to eat and each item was better than the last! We also asked if he could recommend us some places to eat and see around vancouver and he went around to all his coworkers asking for recommendations and wrote them down on a card and gave it to us. We will most definitely be back here again! Thank you for such a memorable experience.
