The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis. We welcome children over the age of 7. Dogs are welcome in the "pub" area of the Cat, they are not permitted in the dining room

Our aim is to provide good quality freshly produced food and at reasonable prices.We are delighted our customers love the warm welcoming ambience of the pub and enjoy the traditional and slightly quirky decor.The Farmer’s Sunday lunch always offers a choice of three meats, fresh vegetables and goose fat roast potatoes. Made very welcome. Very busy lunchtime, but service excellent. Comfortable and lovely ambience. Food is great and portions good. Not rushed, though we were the last to leave! Would happily recommend it, but do book to avoid disappointment.

Another amazing meal at The Cat. It's really hard to describe just how perfect our evening was ... the food was so delicious - it just seems to get better and better, and the crab starter from the specials board was so good! The staff, as always, were amazing, perfect with timings and service and always so lovely to chat to. It was also pleasantly busy so the atmosphere was loveley but not noisy. Can't find fault in anything!

Superb!!!! Excellent tasty food, brilliant service, lovely ambience and the team really looked after us. It was my son's 18th birthday and we really appreciated the extra touches - thanks for a great evening!

Service from start to finish was wonderful, the ambience and overall atmosphere was lovely. The food was then outstanding too. perfect start to our honeymoon before jetting off!
