The Belgian Monk opened in December 2000. The main objective was to create something different yet to fit in with the way drinking and dining is changing. It has become a successful and established bar and restaurant, offering customers a choice of a regular selection of some 45 beers together with a selection of special beers. The menu is based on serving only the best products available freshly prepared daily, at realistic prices, in an informal relaxed "friends and family" atmosphere. It provides more than just the meal or drink but a whole Belgian experience. Beautifully presented- gorgeous and delicious Sunday roast . I tried all 3 starters and all were sensational. Good portion size of roasts - saw others taking home foil packets but mine just too good. Extra jug of gravy and strong horseradish for nicely pink beef. All vegetables hot and interesting and delicious. Wines by the glass were great too.

Been meaning to try for ages..kept hearing good things. What an absolute gem tucked away above a friendly pub. Lovely staff, delicious food, great atmosphere. Just really good.

Had great service from Ed, who dealt with our drinks and our food. The ambience in the restaurant itself was lovely and mellow. The food was amazing and the price was exactly what you’d expect. Will definitely be back
