Next Door is the sister restaurant of Margaret, which, quite literally, sits next door to it at the corner of Bay St and Guilfoyle Avenue. Featuring a rolling 12-hour lunch-to-dinner menu, the bar brings you a selection of specially curated small plates such as Woodfire Grilled Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes with Oregano, Braised Zucchini with Mint, Chilli and Pecorino, as well as an amazing selection of Consorcio, Cuca, Pollastrini, Ortiz and Real Conversas tins with some freshly baked sourdough from Baker Bleu. It's also home to the famous Perry hamburger."It's just a place to get some really nice hospitality, chill out and enjoy your day," Neil Perry.     What a wonderful dinner experience. Our server Georgie spent time with one of our group going over gluten free options and made other suggestions to help us choose wisely. All the food was prepared perfectly and served with style and grace. My wine glass never went empty before it was magically refilled.

    This place reflects the neighbourhood and the patrons perfectly. There are no surprises. If you like the neighbourhood and the local residents (I do)…..it is a near perfect experience.

    Dined at Margaret's on Friday 21st Feb for lunch. The entree that stood out was the sashimi of pearl meat, wonderfully textured with a zingy citrus tang from the white soy ponzu. For main the lamb cutlets with hassisa, 3 cutlets beautifully cooked with the hassisa having a gentle bite but not overpowering the cutlets. Enjoyed a fig and walnut pudding to finish. A light, beautifully textured dessert with the flavour of the fig punctuating each mouthful. Wait staff we friendly and informative. Wine matches were very good. The restaurant was busy and alive with the hum of conversations. I am looking forward to my next visit.
