Located on the edge of Rittenhouse Square and Graduate Hospital neighborhoods of Philadelphia, SouthGate is a twist on the traditional gastropub. Elevating food and drink in a modern but in an approachable way, the menu and the décor of Southgate are heavily influenced by both our Korean roots as well as modern American culture, preferring to be interesting and friendly rather than trendy.The menu consists of a wide range of options, including several vegetarian meals. Popular dishes include Korean fried chicken, bulgogi burger, dumplings and buns, and assorted banchan. Hook & Ladder is the unexpected steakhouse you’d never thought you’d find in the historic, original firehouse of the Washington Fire Company. This is a one-of-a-kind Skybar experience allowing guests a close view of our 149 year old firehouse, bell tower and original stained glass windows. A unique cross between a chop house and Crudo bar, Hook & Ladder features Certified A5 Japanese wagyu beef that will melt in your month. Dry aged Steak offerings including 32 days dry aged Porterhouse (28oz), 32 days aged Tomahawk Ribeye (40oz) that will taste decidedly beefy, much like a rare roast beef, while also taking on subtler hints of other delicious flavors. Crudo uses the Japanese technique of curing the fish making it more tender and flavorful. Finishing it with lime, lemon, and soy; featuring Wild King Salmon, Japanese Madai, Hamachi and more. Enjoy the purest and fresh take on some classic cocktails.

We are ecstatic to open a state of the art open kitchen, serving the two dishes we recklessly love and cannot live without...noodles and sushi! Our goal is to focus heavily on freshness and quality, as we make craft noodles and sushi for our guests. That also means we will be making everything from scratch, in-house.     Recently held a dinner party at LaScala’s Fire in Newtown Sq. I was very impressed with the service, food and atmosphere. Our waiter, Abraham, was fantastic. He was very attentive, quick to fulfill requests, interactive with the party, and added his own bit of comedy to make the evening more enjoyable. Our dinner was delicious. I will definitly be returning soon.

    We went for Valentine’s Day! The meal was great and though they were very busy the service was great. Drinks, small plates and main courses were all fantastic. I paid with a gift card and the checkout process was super easy. We’ll definitely be back!

    This place was wonderful. We had a sweet valentines day dinner. The decor was so beautiful. The musis was Great. We ordered 4 dishes to sharr and a brownie dessert. Everything was delicious! Vegan restaurants habe grown and thos one SHINES! Lots of cozy places to enjoy the decor. I want wait to go again and sit in the front on the couch as people stroll by. Im trying the bread pudding dessert next and 4 new dishes. The chefs know flavors. The curry carrots?!??! Mushroom sliders!!! PESTO gnocci...as a vegan i havent had pesto in a while! Im trying the flatbread and edemamr wontons next
