Bar Red is located just east of Colfax and Glenarm, two blocks from the Colorado Convention Center and directly across Colfax from the Golden Triangle. Bar Red offers Authentic Italian cuisine. Happy hour from 4pm-7pm and dinner from 5pm to close. The menu was prepared by Chef Luke McCoy. Chef Luke is classically trained in French and Italian Cuisine. Chef Luke's signature Seared Salmon Risotto is famous amongst regulars. All of Chef Luke's dishes are meticulously prepared with fresh scratch ingredients ...and his house-made Desserts are to die for. The menu changes weekly with many mainstay dishes to please all foodies. Bar Red also features occasional live music and there is never a cover charge. Overall great experience. We kind of got off to a rough start with the host. we wanted to know if they had drinks while we waited for our table all he could seem to say is we have a lounge. We asked if there was a bar available while we waited he said all we have is a lounge. I asked are we able to get drinks he said we had a lounge not a bar. So we went next door and had a few drinks until we waited for our reservation. Then we came back in 15 minutes before a reservation he escorted us to the lounge and then asked us if we wanted a drink! But other than that it was a great experience great food great waiter! I think for a big event we will be back.

The old menu was better and a go-to. This new menu incorporates a lot of seafood. That’s a risk in Colorado…one my husband likes to take. This time it didn’t pay off. The shrimp left him feeling ill all night.

The staff was exceptional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! Food was outstanding and they had a great wine selection. Staff recommended pecan pie for dessert-it was out of this world delicious. Would highly recommend West 29th. We will be back…..
