Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. In the Restaurant, sophisticated seasonal dishes are served in a refined setting with a weekly changing 3-course Lunch Menu du Jour, a seasonally-inspired 7-course Tasting Menu and an a la carte option. In the more informal Brasserie, a selection of favourites are cooked to perfection with the finest ingredients. Café Britaly is a cheeky addition to Peckham's exciting food scene. Specialising in Britalian food made by ex-Bouchon Racine chef Alex Purdie, served in an informal airy mid-century café environment. Whilst the Britalian Carbonara with Cream, deep-fried Pizzetta Crunch, and 'superior-to-tiramisu' Zuppa Inglese trifle, have been shocking Italian Instagram there are many other classic dishes that focus on British-Italian provenance also. Situated on Rye Lane it is a centrally located Peckham restaurant, between the station and the Rye (Peckham Common).

Open since 1985, this delightful, unpretentious restaurant in Forest Hill, London, is renowned for its stunning and innovative modern Indian cuisine. Babur's stylish, earthy interior features exposed brick walls, natural wooden furniture and beautiful handmade Bengali artworks. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. We highly recommend the spicy sardine fish cake stuffed with caramelised figs; sandalwood ostrich infused with fenugreek; and black cod in spices and mustard oil with mustard mash. The wine list, designed by Peter McCombie, is also superb and features 16 wines by the glass, and 34 bottles for under £20.
