We are a family owned business located in the centre of York by the River Ouse. Close to The Grand Opera House and city centre, Plonkers is an ideal place to meet with friends or colleagues for a relaxed drink.Weekends at Plonkers can have a party atmosphere where you can relax after work with friends. Upstairs seats approximately 26 but we can cater for buffets for around 40 people with some standing. The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales. For those wishing for over-night accommodation there are five converted farm cottages that provide a peaceful and charming place to stay, the converted Studio Suite located above the pub and a self catered cottage in the village, Ivy Cottage that sleeps up to 6 people.

Food was excellent and the service was the same. Attentive staff without being overly so. We had two of the mocktails and they were lovely. The soup and salmon were excellent and well portioned. Originally we were just going to have a starter and main but it was so delicious we also had a dessert. Again excellent quality and good portion sizes.

Had great meal for a friends Birthday. Food was really good. Great atmosphere and decor. Staff were very attentive and professional. Will definitely be back. I’ve already recommended to a couple of friends.
