There are a wide variety of restaurants in Ludlow, but Clive Arms stands out if you want traditional British food that makes the most of Ludlow’s local ingredients.Our food is inspired by the seasonal produce of Shropshire and our surrounding counties. Many of our ingredients are handmade at Ludlow Farmshop. Overlooking the historic Ludford bridge, just a few minutes walk from the town centre of Ludlow, the Charlton Arms is the epitome of a charming Pub. The kitchen, headed up by Krizstian Balogh, focusses on great British food and features a wealth of local produce. Fantastic pub classics feature strongly alongside accomplished dishes. Real Ales and local Ciders sit proudly amidst the eclectic selection of wines to suit every budget. To make the most of a visit to the Charlton, there are nine comfortable en-suite bedrooms. The breakfast menu, from Clun Valley Eggs, locally cured bacon and Ludlows' famed sausages to the finest smoked salmon has something for everyone. Independently run by Cedric and Amy Bosi, a warm welcome is guaranteed. Children are welcome and are provided with a children's menu. For the dog lovers amongst you, well behaved dogs are allowed in, and with the beautiful walks around Ludlow and its Whitcliffe Common, muddy boots are always a feature of the pub!

Our cooking style is modern British. Chef, together with his team aims to provide meals full of flavour, largely using local, seasonal produce. Our well-stocked wine cellar offers a good selection from Europe as well as some classics from the New World and several wines are available by glass.

The Bateman Arms was built c.1750 by Sir James Bateman (Lord Mayor Of London) as a building where his Estate workers would collect on pay day. Over the years it became a staging post for weary Drovers to refresh themselves as they walked livestock from West Wales to markets in Birmingham and London.Today, Mike Pope and his team provide a warm welcome to both locals and the many business and leisure visitors who travel to the Marches throughout the year.
