Established in 1959, owners Jenny Youll and Mike Sabina expanded the once small coffeehouse of St. Michaels Alley into this intimate dining establishment in 2009. The restaurant provides three comfortable spaces for a dinner out with friends, date night, or a complete private event. The main dining room is wood paneled and intimate. We went as a family to celebrate Christmas Eve. We booked as a party of six, but one of our party bailed, so we were only five, which led to our disappointment that they still charged a fixed service charge. Additionally, for half the meal, the music was so loud, we could not talk. Once past this, our food and service was great and we all had a great time.

Food was excellent as was the service. Noise level was low but we arrived early and the noise picked up a bit.

Appetizers were good. Tea was ok. Meals were good, flavorful, presentation was good. Waiter should should explain a little more about the specials if someone says it's their first time there and it's their bday.

As always, the location had plenty of parking and wasn't too crowded. We made Priority reservations, in advance, through OpenTable. We were seated within 2-3 minutes upon arrival for dinner. Our meal consisted of the stuffed mushrooms appetizer, 1lb snow crab, salmon dinner, and I had the Lobster Punch for my cocktail. Everything came out hot and appealing to eat. Our server was a little more attentive with others than to my Mother and I, but other staff stepped in when necessary.
