As you walk into the Peacock you get the feeling of history, built in 1652, the hotel was originally used as a dower house for Haddon Hall. The link between the two survives today as Lord Edward Manners brought the hotel back into his estate in 2004, the hotel has many pieces of unique furniture and art work from the Estate. The Bar is another step back into the past with a copper topped bar and untouched surroundings, the extensive cocktail and drinks list can be enjoyed in the bar or lounge before dinner. Our restaurant team have been the proud bearers of three AA rosettes–the top ten percent in the country. We offer both an indulgent, fine dining menu & a more relaxed bar menu to suit most tastes or moods. We serve truly local ingredients including organically-reared beef & lamb from the Haddon Estate. We are open for lunch in our bar and restaurant Tuesday to Saturday and dinner in our bar Tuesday to Friday and dinner in our restaurant Tuesday to Saturday.

Parking Please note we have a car park on-site however it can get very busy and is limited. Please respect the neighbours when parking on-street by not blocking their driveways. Please do not park opposite other cars therefore making the road too narrow to pass. Come and join us at this beautiful old pub very soon. Visited three days after Christmas Day and received a warm friendly welcome and excellent service for the whole visit . Food well presented and delicious , only critic was the fish really didn’t have much taste (no beer batter taste or seasoning ) and the tartar sauce should be in a separate dish not on the plate , mine has seeped in to the mushy peas and the chips . The lamb and the pie were superb , lots of meat in the pie . The baked Alaska was delicious , a lovely change from the usual desserts . All areas of the place were busy with diners and praise has to be given to all the staff for their high standards in all areas of their hospitality. An added bonus - it’s a dog friendly destination .

Fantastic food - 3 course dinner menu plus canapés and a muse bouche, brilliant service from Abi and Owen and a beautiful riverside setting. No wonder you have to boom months in ad ance!! Highly recommended.

Really warm cosy venue that also has accommodation available. Staff were obviously well versed on how to manage guests and the meals provided were exquisite. Great place for a few drinks and food just be remember you get what you pay for 😊

An absolutely wonderful Jubilee picnic, the coronation chicken and rice was gorgeous. Such a wonderful array of rolls, quiche, scotch egg, crisps to accompany, you could tell they were specially selected for quality, and a fresh cream scone and jam, summer berries and brownie to finish. All beautifully packaged in a lovely insulated bag. Perfect.
