Sokrates Greek Taverna on Winter Hey Lane in Horwich is a relaxed, friendly restaurant serving dishes from Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean. The dining room has a light and easy-going ambience like a typical Greek Taverna. The focal point of the menu is the Greek Meze which is a selection of dishes served to the middle of the table for people to share over an hour or so. It's a great way to eat and experience a variety of flavours. The Meze can be tailored for vegetarians and for special diet restrictions such as gluten or dairy intolerance. On the A'la Carte menu one can find all the popular dishes like Mousaka, Stifado and delicious Souvlaki (skewers) and Lamb Koftas cooked on real charcoal. Great environment. Excellent Thai food. Excellent background singer and magician doing amazing tricks without disturbing your meal. Staff were all very pleasant and oblliging. Great night out.

The Allotment is a great place for vegan food. I'd really recommend the tapas deal, we shared 5 small plates and they were all delicious. It's a lovely atmosphere and the service is excellent. An oasis of calm amid the noise and bustle of the Christmas markets!

Every time I go it’s amazing, not once have I been and not enjoyed the food the atmosphere the service. Nick and Christine efficient fabulous nothing is too much trouble. Get the Meze it’s good value for money and everything on it is amazing
