The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Stephane was the Maitre d'Hotel for 12 years before purchasing Chez Catherine in 2016. His career spans many years at Alain Ducasse's restaurants in NYC and France and before that in a number of other restaurants throughout France.

Great service. Delicious food. Highly recommend the butchers cut 12oz. Filet mignon. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Place was recommended by a friend for my wife and my 2nd wedding anniversary and did not disappoint.

Fun atmosphere and modern vibe. Food was excellent. Spicy rigatoni ala vodka was great, tender octopus, perfectly cooked salmon. The focaccia bread to start was also amazing. Service was efficient and portions were good for the price. We’ll be back!

Love the food and the service is always great! Even called ahead to reserve St. Joseph’s pastries for the table and they were happy to accommodate. Will keep going back!
