The Belgian Monk opened in December 2000. The main objective was to create something different yet to fit in with the way drinking and dining is changing. It has become a successful and established bar and restaurant, offering customers a choice of a regular selection of some 45 beers together with a selection of special beers. The menu is based on serving only the best products available freshly prepared daily, at realistic prices, in an informal relaxed "friends and family" atmosphere. It provides more than just the meal or drink but a whole Belgian experience. Bill’s was as usual as we have been many times, good service and no rushing you. The only thing that let it down on this visit was that the burgers did not seem as nice. It did not appear to be as such good quality beef as in the past and normally I feel really full after the burger and fries , but not so much yesterday. I actually had to have something to eat when I got home. Maybe cuts have been made instead of putting the price up.

A place of great character, with an astonishing selection of beers. The food is very good. Some dishes are done a little better than others, but overall a very good menu of perfectly edible dishes. Service is very efficient, friendly and helpful.
