The Grape Variety is a neighbourhood, independent wine bar, shop and restaurant, selling great wines and food from around the world, located just 2 minutes from Chipstead Railway Station.We opened in the spring of 2018 with the aim that a wine bar should cater not just to experts, but to all, so we created one where our guests could unwind at the end of the day with a great wine in a warm, friendly and genuine environment, whilst getting sound advice about which wines to enjoy, as well as to take away.For food, we offer quality artisan cheese and charcuterie, alongside dishes such as baked Camembert, bakery sausage rolls, hot chorizo and potato, hummus with a spicy sauce, Spanish pâté and the like. We had an excellent birthday meal without our small person. The food was phenomenal as were the mocktails which helped to make the day extra special. The service was impeccable and we felt very looked after. Will definitely be returning to sample the rest of the menu!

Always a lovely evening. We had only booked a table for 2 but then needed a last minute extra and even though they were fully booked they were very accommodating. Great wine recommendations and good food.

The venue was very nice and modern. Due to the time of year it was quite busy and noisy with Xmas parties. When I booked I didn't realise initially that they were only serving the fixed Xmas party menu and I thought that menu was a little disappointing compared to the usual menu. The choices were a little limited, but the food was good. Service was generally good. There was a young man waiting on tables who was very good. Polite, friendly and helpful, unfortunately I didn't get his name, but he was great. One thing that was not good, was another waiter offered to take our plates away whilst we were still eating! I will probably come again, but after Xmas when the normal menu is being served.
