We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. Shinsei is just that: a neighborhood gathering place with date night appeal. But not so unexpected that you won’t be able to decipher the menu or recognize your favorite dish. This is my third visit to TLC and I love it every time. Lots of delicious options! Also, it’s a scratch kitchen so you can give them a list if sensitivities or allergies when you order and feel comfortable with what’s served.

Hostess was friendly upon arrival. The food and beverage experience was good. The service was slow and not very attentive. We had to ask several time for drink refreshes, water service and the food came out very staggered. Also, we had a party of 5 and some of the appetizers are for 3 to 4 guests max. We wish the server would have recommended additional upsells. Not sure we will go back to this location.
