Dinner at Black Cat Farmstead is a unique dining experience! Enjoy one of our 7 intimate, private garden cabanas with wood stoves, gorgeous views, and a beautiful 4-Course chef tasting menu (dietary restrictions accommodated) created by James Beard nominated chef Eric Skokan at our historic farmstead. Designated historical, 740 is one of Colorado's two oldest remaining saloons; transformed back to its 1904 roots; a traditional American dining saloon with a turn of the century ambiance featuring a magnificent room dominating bar, built in 1880 by the Brunswick Company,. The copper spit trough, once equipped with running water, still exists at the front of the bar. Louisville, notorious for its drinking, gambling, and illegal activities, evidence of the occasional misunderstanding is the .22 caliber bullet hole in the front bar. The bar offers a selection of craft beers, wines,  handcrafted cocktails and an extensive craft bourbon selection.Dinner Tue. thru Sat.     We had lots of tapas and they were delicious. Lots of different options. Good for vegetarians and pescatarians. Good wine list and we tried the Amaro recommended by our server. Dessert was great. It’s a little ‘energetic’ ie loud.

    We found the unique setting, the variety of dishes, and delectable taste extraordinary. We enjoyed the entire dining experience. My only suggestion would be to offer wine by the glass. Perhaps the only choice being red or white, whichever would pair best with the course being served. As my husband doesn’t drink and our granddaughter was underage, I didn’t want to order a whole bottle. Other than that recommendation, everything was absolutely perfect!!!!

    We arrived at happy hour and stayed through dinner. We started with the spinach dip and ceviche. Both delicious. I had the happy hour old fashion which was smooth and delicious. My husband had the aged ribeye and I had the flatiron steak for dinner. We agreed that I had the better steak. Although a little salty, it was juicy and tender. Great flavor. We had creme brulee for dessert. Not bad but not fabulous. It was more pasty than silky smooth & not enough sugar on top to crack. We will try something else next time.
