Food was very well presented and delicious. Service was attentive. We had a nice table for 5 where conversation could flow without it being too noisy. We recommend!

Had our anniversary lunch here today, and our first experience of this kind of restaurant. We are in love. The food was sublime. The salads and sides were super fresh, and the range of warm sides covered everyone's tastes. The Garlic mushrooms were amazing! The the meat served to the table was all cooked to perfection and allowing you to sample all the different types to your hearts content is perfect. The staff are attentive, but not pushy, and can't do enough to help. We would recommend everyone visit this lovely reasonably priced restaurant in the heart of York!

Our first visit here and could not fault the experience. My flat iron steak with side orders was perfect. Not a crumb left. Hubby’s pork cheek very tender and the beef burger did not disappoint. I finished old school with Baked Alaska the perfect end to our meal. Ronnie was our main waiter but all staff looked after us really well. Great ambience and looking forward to returning.

Lovely food, friendly service. Drinks are stupid expensive but otherwise great.

Since going vegan and my taste changing due to Covid, I've literally given up going out for meals because it just doesn't seem worth spending money on food that I probably won't taste or enjoy. However I'm so glad my husband and I went here, it felt special enough for a lovely date night. There was a romantic and quiet ambience, the staff were lovely and attentive. The prices are good and the food is gorgeous! For the first time in a long time, I went out for a meal and I enjoyed everything about it. Thank you Orchid. Xx
