When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. Cafe Momentum is a non-profit restaurant that serves as a paid post-release internship for juvenile offenders. Youth are released from detention into the sheltered environment of Café Momentum’s post-release program. Café Momentum’s program teaches critical skills that allow youth to re-enter society in a safe, real-world environment of nurturing accountability. By participating in our program, at-risk young people rotate through every aspect of the restaurant from waiting tables to washing dishes, while working side-by-side with established chefs. The paid internship gives them the opportunity to exercise and practice their new skills while continuing to develop leadership, social, and vocational skills for as long as they choose to maintain involvement with Café Momentum. Additionally, Café Momentum works with the Dallas County Juvenile Justice Department to serve youth deemed highest risk for incarceration.

Brian was great! Food was all perfect- we had filet mignon lobster mac tater tots tiramisu cheesecake and sweet potato fries. Everything was very good. Sadly the beef Wellington is wrapped in prosciutto, which was a bit disappointing as we don’t eat pork- However its our fault for not checking!! Drinks were good and strong as well. Great view and the pianist coupled with the dim lighting made for a perfect romantic ambiance . Only complaint would be that they aren’t very strict with their dress-code- saw someone wearing lululemon leggings and sneakers which kind of threw me off. Feel like it cheapens the place. But overall very great experience .

We had a great dinner here on Saturday. We were sat at the bar and Octavius the bartender took care of us. He was so personable and funny and made our dinner a blast. I got the club and my spouse had the burger, both were so delicious. We loved our evening here.

Cute spot with amazing sandwiches and coffee. It's in the middle of downtown so just a little bit shady with the homeless around.

Nice experience for a good Saturday outing. We ended up not dining at the scout but rather had drinks and played games. It was not crowded due to the time we arrived. Perfect Sunday meet up spot.
