Enjoy fresh seafood from Hawaii and fresh seafood flown in weekly from California, plus our signature Bucket of Fire and Volcano flaming drinks, all within walking distance to shops and historic sites.

A landmark (formerly the Ocean View Inn) and a local’s favorite Kona restaurant since 1934, the building housing The Fish Hopper has been beautifully restored to expand upon its spectacular ocean views. We proudly serve seafood from sustainable sources, harvested by methods that do not harm the environment.

Unfortunately, the food and service were not great. We sat for a long time after being seated and had to ask someone where our waiter was. We ordered drinks and the calamari appetizer. The calamari was just frizzled bits of mostly breading. We ordered salads and just started eating them when a waiter brought out our main dish. We told him it was too soon and we wanted to eat our salad first. Guess what, they just put the dish under a heat lamp and brought it out when we were done with our salads. My husband loves their Sand Dabs but was very disappointed as they were dry and cold. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The food and the view are both exquisite. We love the server named Rebecca because she is always polite and gives excellent service. She can even remember what each of us orders. We will continue coming back each week for this wonderful experience.

Very disappointing. Service was terrible. Our starter never arrived. We commented on this when our mains arrived but nothing was done about it. Eventually, as we were finishing our main course, the starter turned up - we sent it back. The food we did have was nice, but definitely wouldn't go back. We didn't leave a tip.

My husband and I love this restaurant. The food is phenomenal. The weight staff is exceptionally gracious, and the manager personally came by every table to let her presence be known and ask how everyone was doing highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious sea food pasta and lovely view on the water. Street noise is a bit loud, but that’s Ali’i Drive for you
