The newly renovated Fish Hopper, housed in an original sardine cannery building, offers spectacular views of the stunning Monterey Bay from every table, including our heated outdoor patio. The Fish Hopper specializes in fresh, sustainable seafood, certified Angus beef, pastas, and live shellfish. Our seafood is either locally caught or shipped in fresh daily, and our produce is locally grown in the Salinas Valley. Some favorites include fresh Monterey Bay abalone, macadamia-crusted halibut, our famous “Tomahawk Chop” bone-in rib eye, and fresh Dungeness crab. Love to take my out of town guests here. The Local’s menu is a hit and appreciate that Taste of Monterey wines no corkage fees are honored. The ambiance and view are wonderful! Everyone always enjoys dining here!

Thank you for the excellent time at Fish Hopper. Every staff member was kind and attentive. The food was great - nothing over the top which can be comforting when dining out with a group. Great food cooked appropriately without trying to be fancy. We were surprised that the rice and vegetables we so good - often forgotten when meat and fish are highlighted. My daughter has celiac and she had plenty to choose from and did not get sick. Although pricey, we expected this in this location. We would return.

Arrived early and they were able to seat us right away. Amazing ocean views from our table in the front corner of the restaurant. We ordered drinks, coconut shrimp, crab stuffed mushrooms, 2 cups of chowder and bread. My Hawaiian Breeze cocktail was delicious. The coconut shrimp were lightly coated and perfectly crisp, with a nice dipping sauce. The crab stuffed mushrooms were small but tasty. The chowder was hot & creamy, not the best we’ve had but good. The bread rolls arrived hot with soft butter. Service was great. Nice place for lunch having just arrived in Monterey. I would recommend and would return.

Exceptional service and a delicious meal! We enjoyed the skirt steak and my husband said it was the best he’s had - EVER. Even the Parmesan crusted chicken was tasty!! The clam chowder was good & we enjoyed the cookie skillet for dessert.

The food wasn't very good. Had the chowder, the cod fish and snapper. The best thing was the cole slaw. The fish tasted very fishy.

If you live in Monterey County, the Locals Menu offered Monday-Thursday is a great value. The Cioppino had fresh tasting seafood, not overcooked, in a slightly zesty sauce. The Baby Back Ribs had a nice char, but parts of it tasted dry. Generous portions at a reduced price. Service has always been great everytime I've been here.
