When owner Johnny Carrabba set out on his next restaurant venture, he knew his vision would include the fond memories he had of his dear grandmother Grace Mandola. Grace, also known to the family as Mama, was a Sicilian woman born to immigrant parents in Louisiana. She had a flair for cooking, hospitality, and deep faith.

She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food.

We had a reservation and arrived about 20 minutes early. They told us they would have a table ready close to the time of our reservation. They told us we could wait in the bar and they would come get us. 45 minutes later we asked if our table would be ready soon. They said someone claimed our table even though they never came and got us. We waited another 15 minutes and finally get a table. The table that was by us was seated after us. They got their food before we even got to order ours. Tonight was our anniversary. We don’t live in Houston but we have gone to Graces for our last 4 anniversary’s. We did not feel welcomed there tonight and won’t be back. It’s a shame because we really love the food and normally the ambiance. And previously we have had great service.

As we walked in , our greeters set the stage for excellences! Jay was oh so awesome , my birthday celebration was nothing less than perfection!

This is a staple in our dining choice as the food is always good and the service is generally always friendly. You can tell it's an enjoyable atmosphere by the noise level, so if you are not bothered by this you'll have a great time.

Grace’s NEVER fails to disappoint which is why it’s my absolute, most favorite restaurant. Ana greeted me at the front desk and she’s always warm and welcoming and our waitress Jackie was also awesome. Todd was the only thing missing but I know he works at night now.

We were looking for a nice upscale experience and that is exactly what we got! The food and service was top notch. This is a great spot to celebrate an event or for a date night.

The lead hostess was not kind on last night 1/18/24. We had a reservation @6:30pm for our Christmas Celebration and we could not be seated until another family got up from that same table @7pm. Communication was poor and the manager did not come over to our table afterwards to apologize. We were made to feel like it was our fault. She sent an appetizer to the table but did not come over to speak with us herself. This is unacceptable!!

Ton and Trey were excellent servers and were very warm and welcoming. They took excellent care of us and even had their manager, Todd, help us with an extra question we had. We really appreciated Todd taking the time to talk to us! Probably one of the best times we have been to Graces!
