   We’re from out of town and I was searching for a Cobb salad. It was a great salad that I had added chicken to. The staff and kitchen are great.

   Brunch at Grant Grill – So Good! If you’re looking for an amazing brunch in San Diego, Grant Grill inside the US Grant Hotel is the place to be! Everything was delicious, but the potatoes? Easily the best I’ve ever had—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and just insanely good. The new pancakes were another standout. They were super fluffy and topped with homemade marmalade, apricot-spiced marmalade, and pistachios. Every bite was perfection! Between the beautiful setting, fantastic service, and incredible food, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Can’t wait to go back!

   We had a fabulous dinner last night at the Grant Grill. Sara, our server was excellent and the dinner was special because we had dishes not to be found elsewhere such as the curry squash soup. Every time we dine here we are impressed.

   The Grant Grill is a secret gem. The food and service is excellent. Sergio our waiter is one of the best. Service more like you would receive at a top restaurant in NYC. Food and presentation Michelin Mention category. Great pre Opera venue.

   We have been coming to the Grant Grill at the US Grant hotel for years, usually when attending an event at the Civic Theater. The grill has always been exceptional, until now. In addition, we arrived a bit early and were told that there were other reservations ahead of us and that we could wait in the bar and someone would notify us. Our reservation time came and went, no one came and we had to track someone down to be seated. We made a reservation, but we’re seated at the back by the kitchen door (very noisy and annoying). As reference, no one was seated at any number of tables that would have been preferable for the time we arrived and for the entire time we were there. The food was mid-to-poor compared to what we have had at the grill before. No flavor, presentation was like it was just thrown onto the plate and my spouses salmon was going cold. As there are so many great alternatives in the downtown area, we expected far better from The Grant Grill. We were extremely disappointed. Some reviewers may exaggerate, I am not. The wait staff, aside de from the front of house, was great.

   I hosted a lunch for four co-employees at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly, but the service was very slow. We waited 45 minutes to have our orders served. During this lunch and a prior one at this venue, I noticed the portions served were very small. For the prices charged, I was very disappointed.
