   Absolutely superb experience my 22 ounce ribeye cooked to the perfection service was great. Luck was very attentive and knowledgeable.

   Best steakhouse in America without a doubt! Hal’s ribeye is the best ribeye you might ever eat, and get all the variations of seafood as apps!

   Porter's behavior was unprofessional. He was inattentive initially, then he became overly pushy, and then seemed annoyed when we were finishing our conversation. He hovered near our table, visibly annoyed, and even snapped at me when I mentioned his hovering. He rushed us out the door, even though we were not the last table in the restaurant.

   I have been a long time fan of Hal's, but this dinner was very disappointing. We were stuck at a very small table for 2 and I was with my adult 35 year old son. We started with cocktails - an old fashion for me and a martini for my son were both great. We ordered 6 chargrilled oysters (because Hal was from New Orleans) and were very disappointed. We could barely taste the oysters and they no flavor. Too much bad cheese and no garlic or butter. The waiter did comp it after I gave my constructive criticism. Next, we each ordered 12 oz filets (that is their smallest size). My son got the "au poivre sauce", but it was nothing special. I just had a regular filet and it was cooked slighly above my requested medium rare, but it was dry and had no flavor. We ordered lobster mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. The mac and cheese was ok and the brussel sprouts were really good. It was my son's birthday, so we ordered dessert, but didn't realize they would bring the dessert we ordered (bourbon bread pudding) and a crème brûlée for my son for his birthday. We didn't want or need both desserts. I bought a very nice 2022 Far Niente Napa Valley Cave Collection Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a little pricey at $300 (retail is $175), but that was ok for a steak restaurant. The kicker was a "forced 20% gratuity." I am a very good tipper and I normally tip 25%, with some adjustments for a good bottle of wine. In this case, the wine cost me an extra $60 because of the tip. The service was very good, but I have never had a restaurant charge a forced gratuity for serving 2 people (of course, if we had 6 or more in our party, I would understand). It just rubbed me the wrong way, especially after the quality of the food. This is my 5th trip to Hal's and, regrettably, will probably be my last. The food has suffered and for a bill of $695 for 2 people (even with my appetizer comped"), it is not worth it. I do live in Texas and I was just a visitor to Atlanta.

   Music suddenly got loud. We were in back corner under a speaker. Did not enjoy shouting to speak during meal. . Food and service excellent as usual.

   We always enjoy dining at Hal’s. The food is excellent. What really makes the experience is the great wait staff.
