Harry & Izzy's is an independent, upscale, classic American Grill located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Its ambience exudes class and sophistication in a comfortable setting. While the lively bar is Harry & Izzy's focal point, unique dining rooms incorporate dark woods, lush fabrics and a deep color palette. This sister restaurant to the famous St. Elmo Steak House, shares a few classic dishes (including their steaks and the famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail), while offering more menu variety. We ate at Harry & Izzy’s Downtown while we’re were visiting Indianapolis for a business conference. We made lunch reservations and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The restaurant is beautiful. It’s a very old building and has tall ceilings and lots of wood and windows. We chose a lunch special where you get their signature shrimp cocktail, two sliders (you choose between filet mignon, fried chicken or shrimp) you also got a choice of soup or salad and fries or chips. We got the filet mignon slider, Caesar salad and house chips. The shrimp cocktail was really good. The shrimp were large fresh and firm and the cocktail sauce which is made from fresh horseradish was surprisingly tasty. The filet mignon sliders were amazing. The steak was tender and filled with flavor. The house chips and salad were both fresh and perfect. Our server was prompt, friendly and efficient. I enjoyed my lunch so much that I wanted to immediately make another reservation so I could come back and repeat the entire experience. Definitely will go back before we leave.

The meal and service were average. We had a party of 11. Therefore, some of our meals sat under the warmer. They were served just under lukewarm. Our server was polite, but we often could not find her to request refills or let her know about the issue with the temperature of our meals. We also had to grab necessary items from the server station behind us(such as straws, saltines for the shrimp cocktail, extra napkins). It was disappointing.

We splurge once a year to come here and it never disappoints. It’s not super fancy so we don’t feel out of place, but it’s a very nice place for a special date night. The food and drinks are always delicious. This visit I got the filet which was *chefs kiss* as always, but the brussel sprouts were where the meal really shined. The toasted ravioli appetizer was perfect. My husband loves the shrimp cocktail, with the signature famous cocktail sauce they share with their sister restaurant St. Elmo’s. If you’ve somehow never tried this gem, do yourself a favor and go. Worth every penny.

Our server Maggie and her assistant Sawyer were outstanding. Food of course was excellent. We were there to celebrate Sergio’s birthday and they made him feel very special. Thanks

Typically a really good meal so must have been a off night. My steak edges were burnt but overall came out medium in the center as ordered. Fries were soggy. Overall still a good meal and will be back.

Everything was great, hats off to the Chef. I had grilled salmon for the first time n it did not let me down. We had a lot of dishes. The meatloaf, mash potatoes was great. Love the bacon n root beer glaze. For it to be valentines night the service was excellent. Did have to wait to be seat , reservation was honored. Seated on time and everything. It was not just dinner. It was an experience

We had a great table downstairs by the glassed in entrance. It was great seeing everyone’s Valentines Day outfits. Everyone was dressed to impress.
