I’ve visited this restaurant many times over the years and have consistently enjoyed a good meal. I prefer to share positive experiences, but I must express my disappointment with tonight’s service. I had made a reservation for a specific room, which was unavailable, so we opted to sit at the bar for a more casual dining experience. Unfortunately, it took about 15 minutes for our server to greet us. When he finally came over, he offered us a drink menu but I mentioned we wouldn’t be having any alcoholic beverages tonight. We settled on bottled still and flat water, which was order brought through a different staff member After another 15 minutes, Jonathan our waiter returned to take our order. While the food was generally good, there were a few hiccups—my burger was not cooked to the correct temperature, and the calamari came with a rather unusual tomato sauce. I also felt the bronzino would have been better served with a larger couscous rather than the fine couscous that seemed pre-packaged. We decided on dessert after browsing the menu on our phones, but still, no waiter came to assist us. After another 15 minutes of waiting and feeling frustrated, we put on our jackets and waited longer until the bartender finally brought us the check. I even tried to catch the attention of the maitre d’, but he simply stared at me without offering help. We never did see our waiter again after taking our order. Sadly, given this experience, it may be a long time before I choose to return.

Would highly recommend the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn for brunch. Service was great, food terrific and atmosphere pleasing. Upstairs dining rooms have table cloths. Entire Inn is historic.

Service from Kevin was fantastic. Food was absolutely delicious. Junior is a true gem. We love dining here because of people like this!

We had a lovely lunch at the Ho Ho Kus Inn. The entrees were great—burgers, Cobb Salad and a chicken dish. I didn’t care for the appetizers; warm pretzel was doughy inside and dates wrapped in bacon had very burnt bacon and dates were weird, and not like a date at all. My friend makes these and they are so good. These were not. But everything else was very nice. The server was very very nice and attentive just as you would like. Will return.

During the reservation process nothing was mentioned about a pay one price New Years Eve only limited menu. The menu options were minimal and way too expensive for the quality and amount of food received. Loud children did not help the situation and the wait staff were not attentive. $99 per person for food that was average quality was ridiculous. Their regular menu looked promising, but after this experience I won’t be returning

Excellent stuffed dates with goat cheese wrapped in bacon! Delish Caesar salad and wonderful red snapper and scallops! Cappacino was fabulous! Kudos to the chef- food was delicious!!!
