Il Palio is an intimate restaurant in the Siena Hotel. We strive to emulate the best of the great Italian tradition of hospitality and quality at the table and in the glass.                                                                                   Best pasta I have ever eaten! The staff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Extensive wine menu, and nice and quiet ambiance.

                                                                                  Had a very lovely dinner here. Excellent cocktails (we tried the Il Palio Greyhound and Limoncello Mojito). The atmosphere was lovely, and the servers and hosts were very kind.

                                                                                  Clearly Il Palio has regulars...they come in to drink. The dining room had one waiter and his backup and busers from the kitchen delivering the food. This is our second time and we remembered the house made pasta as being better. This time it was so-so. Arugula salad is lovely. Branzino was dry. Desserts are well executed. They did not have my preferred wine, but made a good substitute. For the prices they charge service should be better. When we were half way through our appetizers a buser came out with a second round of the very same appetizers...clearly a mistake. Perhaps there is not strong enough leadership in the kitchen? The restaurant has a dated look...could use a facelift. But, we wanted a quiet booth for talking and we got that...hard to find in the Triangle.

                                                                                  We were very impressed with the service, food quality, presentation, and taste. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer, and they were delicious. Our meals of tagliatelle, bolognese, and the wild boar dish were all amazing as well. To top it off, the almond cake we had for dessert was sooooo good! They were very accommodating with me having Celiac Disease and needing to have everything gluten free (with the exception of the wild boar which my husband ordered). We will definitely be back!!!

                                                                                  We went to this restaurant a month ago and had a much better experience. This visit we were seated near the entrance, which was loud and some of our servers seemed to be unhappy to be there. It was not the classy ambience we experience last month.

                                                                                  Disappointed. This restaurant is in a hotel off of a heavily scented lobby with no door to mitigate the scent entering the dining room. We thought the pasta was very good , octopus was slightly over cooked with singular flavor, small portion for the price. Lamb chops were good, but again overcooked. The duck portion was plentiful, but we wouldn’t seek out the sauce again as it lacked richness, and a deep, balanced flavor profile. Service was very good. This is a pricey restaurant that sadly just wasn’t worth it.

                                                                                  Lovely head waiter and delicious food, however the female waitstaff that was helping our waiter was super rude! Absolutely nasty.
