Il Palio was named after the race held each summer in Siena, Italy. Created with a passion, the restaurant has been exquisitely designed and beautifully finished with materials from all over the world. No stone was left unturned and time was not a factor in finding exactly what was required to make the "vision" a reality. The atmosphere created is one of quiet comfort in surroundings reminiscent of an Italian villa. The friendly and courteous staff, the outstanding food, and the efficient service all contribute to the ambiance felt by those who visit the restaurant. Il Palio's fine Tuscan cuisine is a pleasing combination of the highest-quality ingredients and the caring preparation by chefs who take pride in the dishes they present.                                                                   So amazing every single time. Menu is always changing and food is just incredible. We always try to go out of our way and order the specials because they are always so thoughtfully created and dishes you won’t find elsewhere. In our top 3 restaurants for sure. Can’t recommend il palio enough!

                                                                  The atmosphere is very sophisticated and casual at the same time. The staff is extremely friendly. The food presentation is elegant. I had the special appetizer, salmon croquettes was very moist which melted in your mouth. Beautiful. As an entree, the salmon, a thick piece cooked medium and was very moist. This dish is my favorite.

                                                                  We were there with a party of 5 on Friday night. The outside decor of the restaurant is outstanding and the inside is very good as well and the food is fantastic. However no tablecloths (place mats), and plastic covered, hard to read menus left something to be desired. Also when we got there on time, they didn't seem very organized and after we were seated it was quite awhile until anyone came to our table and asked if we would like something to drink, etc. Overall this is one of the top restaurants in the area, but not 5 star even though the prices are at the 5 star level. I would also suggest they add some little extra surprises for their guests at no charge to be served when not expected.

                                                                  We were seated in a corner table. The waiter was not very attentive, although the table next to us was waited on and the table turned over twice while we were there. It took a long time before the waiter came to our table for a drink order then once we got our drinks, it was a long time before he came back again. Our appetizer was fried calamari and was good. The dinners came out awhile later and they weren’t hot at all. I’m thinking he put the orders in for everything all at once and the entrees sat around getting cold. For the price they charge for food, you should get hot food. The specials had no prices listed. Needless to say they were super expensive. We were there over 2 hours. Not sure if we’ll go back.

                                                                  Chef Margherita Aloi never disappoints. She is one of the few chefs in CT who provide that true Italian vibe. This is not an Italian American cuisine. Her choice of dishes and specials are like. O where Elise the servers are incredibly knowledgeable about everything she offers from cocktails. Desserts and specials. I had her ho,made pasta with filet mignon tips in a Marsala reduction with a sliver of parmigiana reggiano cheese. It was exceptional and made me feel like I was back in Italy. This is my all time favorite restaurant. From the moment you enter to being seated you are lifted to another place. I’ve been following Chef Aloi for more than 20 years. This is the real deal. Brava chef.
