Il Terrazzo Carmine, owned and operated by Carmine Smeraldo, is one of Seattle's true dining anomalies - a highly successful restaurant with unfailingly high standards and a loyal, sophisticated clientele. The cuisine has been acclaimed as Seattle's best by the media and more importantly, by local diners.
Il Terrazzo Carmine is located in historic Pioneer Square - nestled in an urban-renewed alley with entrances through the vintage lobby on First Avenue or through the delightful courtyard in the back. Since 1984, Carmine Smeraldo's classic Italian restaurant has been where the locals have chosen to return over and over again.     This long lived Seattle restaurant is an institution in the best way. The food is always amazing and the service is top level. Our group loved the bolognese, veal scallopini and osso buco. We have never left this restaurant disappointed

    Our favorite place over the years! We love how the restaurant is tucked into the main building and the secure parking garage below. The food is always perfect and the staff knows exactly what wine to pair. We love the bar since it’s cozy and the tables have a bench seat on one side. The bar is beautiful and perfectly lit. The dessert tray is the best - we love how they bring it over so you can see what each one is!

    My fiance wanted the famous Osso Buco with Risotto and gravy/sauce. When it arrived they no longer serve it with risotto and now a butter pasta. He was disappointed. The dish was good, but he was craving this original recipe.

    The food was great but the service was amazing. A little pricey but worth it for the experience. It was crowded don’t was a little loud.

    This restaurant is usually very good, but we had lackluster service on our last visit. The first issue was that the bartender forgot to serve us a drink we ordered. Then our waiter was way too aggressive trying to upsell us constantly. He also pushed the dessert tray on us while we were still eating our main course! It made us feel like we were cattle being ushered through. Unfortunate.
