J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato chips. The cozy atmosphere includes rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy a quiet table or host a large party.     Daniel and Derrick were the best bartenders!! Drinks and food were awesome as usual. Greeters at the door were friendly.

    I had to send my steak back three times before it was cooked right by the time I got it was tough. For $30 the steak should have cut like butter. I wanted my steak cooked well done and it was cooked medium. My Au gratin potatoes were a bit salty for my tastes. My cocktail was good and my server was very nice. I’m not sure if I’d come back.

    Overall, it was not bad but when you spend close to two hundred dollars on dinner, expectations should be met. Service wasn't horrible but not attentive. Had to wait to be greeted, water, had to find server to take our order after the appetizers were at the table then what bothered me the most is I ordered the three course meal from the selected items menu and was asked "what dessert you want again" after getting the bill. It's the small things most definitely when you drive 45 minutes to give the restaurant a try.

    The waiter judge my wife and that we were cheap because we wanted to split a salad. Drinks ran out, only saw him twice during dinner, had to wait a time to order desert and get the check.
