Artistically designed with unique sculptures, Javier's Crystal Cove provides guests with ocean views in a cozy, contemporary atmosphere to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. It opened its doors in 2008 on Newport Beach and is conveniently close to the Crystal Cove Shopping Center. This restaurant offers guests an upscale dining experience with such entrees as the Maine lobster enchilada topped with Monterey jack cheese and grilled chicken breasts braised in chipotle sauce. Javier's Crystal Cove serves a variety of fresh seafood dishes, appetizers and delicious desserts. It has a full bar that features numerous tequilas, cocktails, beers and wine. Javier's Crystal Cove also offers outdoor dining. It accepts reservations over the phone and online.

I usually don't like to take the time to do this, but the truth is that this day the food was not salty, very salty, two plates for 12 people and he served it.What can I do? The children's plate never arrived, then there was a plate for some people who had guests that didn't arrive on time either, they arrived as if they were thinking they were going to eat, we had a very bad experience.

We recently visited Javier’s to celebrate a milestone birthday and were excited to try it for the first time. Upon arrival, we even mentioned this to the hostess, who assured us she would inform our server, but that never happened. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The drinks were disappointing—my tequila soda had far too much ice and barely any alcohol. For such a simple cocktail, I expected better. The customer service was below par, especially for a meal with such a high price tag. The tortillas for my fajitas didn’t arrive until much later, leaving my entrée cold by the time I could eat. The ceviche, priced at $75, was another letdown. The dim lighting made it hard to even notice the prices on the menu, which added to the frustration. Overall, the night was a disappointment. Out of curiosity, I asked the bartender and hostess why Javier’s is such a popular spot, given it was my first visit. Their response? “It’s the ambiance.” After tonight, I now understand—but not in the way they might have intended.

The service was exceptional, but the product itself was awfully disappointing, especially given the pricing. The way to eat here is not to — instead get drinks and a few appetizers and enjoy the vibe, if it’s your thing. The vibe is young, loud, and un-tastefully rich.

We loved it. Can was so fresh and yummy and crab quesadilla was super tasty. Margaritas were delish.. loved the food and ambience.

I’ve come to this Javier’s multiple times, everything here is amazing. Especially the service. The food is great, my favorite is the Steak Picado. The only downside from my experience is that it is extremely noisy, but that’s not really the restaurants fault it’s just due to high volume.

Javier’s is always an amazing experience. My wife and I have been to the La Jolla and Las Vegas locations. All amazing! This one had brighter interior and a lot of room. It was packed when we went. Food was great and service was fast! Only thing is we didn’t know we had to valet our car when we turned into their parking lot but not really a big issue. Can’t wait to go back!

My party of eight was sat in a corner tucked away, so we didn’t really get to experience the full ambience of this place.

Beautiful restaurant and all of the staff from valet to food service bar none. My favorite is the crab and shrimp enchiladas. Better not be on budget when you eat here but the food is soo good and consistent and delicious. Even order their rice and beans on the side now. We also order their Jidori chicken tostadas which we special order. Yum!!
